About Mitch Grigori - our major translator
& interpreter: Japanese/English/Russian/Spanish
Born
a native Russian I started learning English at the
age of eight, attending a specialized school. Strict teachers and my
own persistency made me speak, read and write it fluently. In a way,
English is also a tool for me now to teach Japanese and, of
course, my native tongue, Russian.
When I turned eighteen and entered the Moscow State University,
School of Asian & African Studies, I chose the Japanese language
and Japanese studies as my major, having set as my goal the
mastery of one of the most difficult languages in the world. After four
years of intensive learning I went to Japan for a year as an
exchange student. Oh, and I resided in Japan for almost four years in
all and about the same time in the United States, Indiana. Besides my
Alma Mater I also had been to two Universities in Japan - Tokai
& Waseda and one in the U.S. - Indiana University. I
taught Japanese as a sessional instructor at UBC from 2002 to 2005 -
University of British Columbia in Canada. Read
